Yesterday I went with a group of old friends for a bushwalk from Meadowbank Station to Homebush Bay at Olympic Park, where we caught the Rivercat back to Circular Quay. It was a beautiful day although very humid and we walked 10 kilometres in total. Some of the walkers are in their eighties and can give me a run for my money.
We came across a rabbit at the start of the walk who was nonchalantly munching on grass beside the stairs down to the walking/bike track. He didn’t even look up when I took his photo.
The mangroves along Parramatta River are magnificent and I had to take photos of them with the tide coming up through their roots and all the new little mangrove shoots forcing their way up through the mud.
Here is another delicious recipe from http://www.taste.com.au. It is cheap, healthy and easy to make. This quantity serves 4, and you can add various other ingredients to make it more versatile or substantial e.g. pumpkin, spinach, bok choy, chicken. Halloumi cheese is delicious fried. It is made from a combination of goat and sheep milk and is very popular in Greece (and more recently Australia).
Here are a few photos of a friend’s 50th birthday celebration at a local cafe. She did all the table decorations herself (i.e. champagne corks in glasses and lolly drinks). We all had a great time and the food was fantastic.
